Web Design Case Study: Annapurna Board Game

Annapurna Board Game

Recently I got the chance to talk to Pam of Fiat Lucre about her experience with Parrot Digital. We created a website for their new board game, Annapurna. Read on to hear her thoughts.

How long have you been in business?

3 years.

How many employees do you have?

3.

What are some of the objectives of your department at this time?

To market and sell the board game Annapurna to select target markets in 2021.

What are your goals?

To sell 850 copies of the game.

What challenges were you experiencing prior to purchasing our service?

The previous website was not professionally designed, and did not have a sales module

How have you benefited from using our product or service?

The site helped drive traffic to our Kickstarter campaign

What challenges and objectives led you to look for a solution?

We needed a site that reflected the art and theme of the game, and we needed a sales module.

What might have happened if you did not identify a solution?

We would definitely have found a solution, just not quite as fast.

Did you explore other solutions prior to this that did not work out? What happened?

I used a template inside Wix.com but it was not flexible and did not match the art and theme of the game very well.

What did your decision-making process look like?

Put the job out to Wix.com designers, and hit it off with Caleb.

How did you hear about our product or service?

Wix bid.

Who was involved in the selection process?

Only me since I am responsible for marketing.

What was most important to you when evaluating your options?

Timeliness of response.

What made our service stand out against our competitors?

I like supporting newer companies that are still building out their portfolio. That’s exactly what my daughter is doing with her game design skills.

How long did it take to get up and running?

About three weeks.

Did that meet your expectations?

Yes.

Who was involved in the process?

Primarily me, but I did have my daughter review the site before we switched over so that she could see the art.

Is there a particular aspect of the service that you rely on most?

No.

Who is using the service?

I am.

How is the service helping you save time and increase productivity?

I have only a basic understanding of Wix, and will rely on Parrot Digital for all project buildouts.

In what ways does that enhance your competitive advantage?

The board game marketplace is very crowded, and has many games that are backed by large entertainment companies, so it is critical to look like you are at the same professional level.

How much have you increased your key metrics? (Sales, leads, views, etc)

Traffic to the site has increased, but that’s because we’ve been buying ads on social media. The key role for the site is still to come with sales.
